The Little Princess Trust

Brought to the attention of many by Harry Styles who donated his famous locks to the charity, The Little Princess Trust was set up in 2006, to provide real hair wigs to boys and girls from the age of 2 years old who have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment. The charity also provides assistance to those who have lost their hair through other illnesses.

Hair loss is a common side effect of most paediatric cancer treatments, this can be devastating for most but for a child it can be heartbreaking, to look so different from your peers. The Little Princess Trust is aware of the approximate timescales from when treatment starts to the first signs of hair loss and strives to have the wig supplied before the original hair is lost, although this cannot always be guaranteed.

Families and treatment centres can get in contact with the charity on behalf of the child to ask for details. The charity will then put you in touch with an appointed salon (the closest to you) and arrange for an appointment to have the real hair wig fitted. Hospital ward or home visits can be arranged if the child is too ill to travel. The real hair wigs are fitted and supplied totally free of charge.

The charity relies on real hair donations. So if you are thinking about having your hair cut or wish to make a donation of your own before any of your own treatment starts please see the hair donation guidelines.
