Brooklyn Brewery Special Effects Alcohol-Free Lager
In films, special effects make the impossible look real. With Brooklyn Special Effects, the magic is in the taste—an impressively good alcohol-free beer. This hoppy lager delivers a subtle pine aroma and a satisfyingly crisp, bitter finish. Its golden colour and gentle, bready sweetness come from dry-hopping with Citra and Amarillo hops—an approach not often used in alcohol-free brewing. Using a specially developed fermentation process, the brewers keep alcohol levels low while allowing full, authentic beer flavours to shine through. It tastes just like a regular lager… except it isn’t.
Alcohol-free beers are crafted much like their alcoholic counterparts, using water, yeast, hops and barley. Some are brewed to naturally low alcohol levels, while others have the alcohol removed after brewing using various methods. Across Europe, beers with up to 0.5% ABV are classed as alcohol-free. In the UK, drinks between 0.05% and 0.5% ABV are typically labelled as non-alcoholic.
