Kate cuts her hair for The Little Princess Trust
Kate is still waiting for her treatment start date, but got the news that her chemo shouldn't cause hairloss. However, as she had geared herself up to lose her hair and had booked an appointment to have it chopped off, she decided to go for it anyway and has donated 9 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust - to help a poorly child get a beautiful real hair wig.
Brought to the attention of many by Harry Styles who donated his famous locks to the charity, The Little Princess Trust was set up in 2006, to provide real hair wigs to boys and girls from the age of 2 years old who have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment. The charity also provides assistance to those who have lost their hair through other illnesses.
Hairloss is a common side effect of most paediatric cancer treatments, this can be devastating for most, but for a child it can be heartbreaking to look so different from your peers. The Little Princess Trust is aware of the approximate timescales from when treatment starts to the first signs of hair loss and strives to have the wig supplied before the original hair is lost, although this cannot always be guaranteed.
